Fukuoka Prefecture has various support systems to alleviate the financial and lifestyle concerns of international students. If you have any difficulties, even a small matter, please feel free to contact us.
Fukuoka International Student Support Center’s Administrative Council (FiSSC)
FiSSC supports international students※1 studying at universities etc. in Fukuoka Prefecture in employment and part-time jobs. Also, companies can register who are considering hiring international students in regular or part-time employment, and we introduce the employment information to international students and match them with employment. All expenses are free of charge, so please feel free to visit our foundation(Acros Fukuoka 3rd floor).※2
※1 Applicable to those enrolled in graduate schools, universities, junior colleges, technical high schools, special training schools, and Japanese language schools in Fukuoka Prefecture, and to former international students who seek employment with a Designated Activities visa after graduation. ※2 You need to register in advance to be introduced to employment or part-time work. If it is your first time, please come to FiSSC with your "Student ID" and "Alien Registration Card (Residence Card)", and if you are looking for part-time work, your "Permission to Engage in Activity Other than that Permitted by the Status of Residence Previously Granted".

Fukuoka International Exchange Foundation Scholarship
With the aim of encouraging top-class international students to study abroad in Fukuoka Prefecture and promoting the internationalization of the region. To students who excel both academically and wish to actively participate in exchange activities within the region, we provide scholarships to support students who need financial aid for tuition fees.
- Eligibility
- Privately-funded international students who are enrolled at universities, junior colleges and national technical high schools that are not in Fukuoka City
- Scholarship amount
- 24,000 yen per month
- Scholarship period
- 1 year
- Number of recipients
- 20 people
- How to apply
- Apply through the International Student Division or the Student Affairs Division of your school.
- Application period
- Mid-April to mid-May (planned)

Fukuoka Satooya Scholarship for International Students from Asian Nations
This is for international students from Asia who are studying in Fukuoka Prefecture.Companies, organizations, and individuals who support international students are asked to act as supporters (foster parents) to provide scholarships and interact with the international students.
- Eligibility
- Self-funded international students originating from regions in Asia who attend universities (full or part time), technical colleges, and vocational colleges in Fukuoka Prefecture
- Scholarship amount
- 20,000 Yen per month (base amount) *Depending on the wishes of the supporters.
- Scholarship period
- 1 year basis *Depending on the wishes of the supporters.
- Number of recipients
- 29 people (2024) *Depending on the wishes of the supporters.
- How to apply
- Please apply through your schools's study abroad office or student affairs office.
- Application period
- Spring Recruitment from Mid-April to Mid-May (Tentative) Autumn Recruitment from Mid-October (Tentative)

The Foundation is looking for supporters (foster parents) who can support international students.
