Our website has been renewed after 10 years!
At the Fukuoka International Exchange Foundation, we have continued to listen to the true voice of foreign residents and look for ways to disseminate information in welcome of multicultural society.
Now, our website has been renewed after 10 years, aiming for very clear information for foreign residents. Our basic concepts are “CLEAR” – using pictograms (pictographs symbolizing information through visual images) over the whole site not seen otherwise in Japan, “ACCESSIBLE” – making use of the color and size etc. of letters so that a wide range of users can find information easily, and “MULTILINGUAL” – adding five more languages to the existing four. The site was constructed from the viewpoint of both Japanese and foreign residents under these concepts, in a form suitable as platform for international information in Fukuoka Prefecture.
The Foundation has named this website the “Information Fountain”, as it strives to become a spring of information for the multicultural society, like rain fallen on distant mountains perpetually bubbling up, each and every drop, from underground channels as a spring.
Please continue to support us to enhance our contents and provide even easier-to-use information in consideration of all of our users.

2. Main changes
Heading | Outline |
Reform of design | By arranging pictograms over the whole site rarely used otherwise in Japan, and making use of layout, color scheme, letter size, etc., we have created a design that allows a wide range of users to find information easily. |
Expansion of contents | We used to feature only the latest event information, but by introducing “Activity reports” on past events and activities held by the Foundation to the contents, we aim to enable our users to find out the types of events in advance, giving them a clearer image and helping them take part in. We have also set up the contents “Online Kokusai Hiroba” that provides online events information while Corona is our concern. |
Multilingual dissemination of information | In addition to existing languages (English, Chinese (simplified) and Korean), we have newly created pages in Chinese (traditional), Nepalese, Vietnamese, Thai and simple Japanese. |
